Job Summary
MetronCS is looking for a skilled Window & Storefront Installer to join our Building Envelope team. You will specialize in the installation of commercial aluminum storefront systems, curtain walls, and entrance doors for high-end retail, restaurant, and commercial properties. This role demands precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering visually striking and functionally superior installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install commercial aluminum storefront systems and curtain wall assemblies per specifications and architectural drawings
- Set and secure aluminum frames, mullions, and transoms using appropriate fastening methods
- Install glazing (glass, tempered glass, and specialty glazing) with proper sealants and gaskets
- Install entrance doors, pivot systems, and automatic door hardware
- Apply caulking, sealants, and weatherstripping to ensure air and water-tight seals
- Perform precision measurements and leveling to ensure plumb and square installations
- Coordinate with structural and architectural teams to resolve field conditions
- Clean and protect finished storefront systems from damage
- Conduct quality inspections and make necessary adjustments to meet specifications
- Maintain detailed installation documentation and communicate with project managers
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional storefront and curtain wall installation experience
- Expert knowledge of aluminum framing systems and curtain wall assemblies
- Proficiency with glazing installation, sealants, and weather-proofing techniques
- Strong understanding of architectural drawings and specifications
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
- Ability to work safely at heights and in variable weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Glazing or Storefront Contractor License
- Experience with high-rise curtain wall installations
- Knowledge of building codes and energy-efficient window systems
- Experience with specialty glass (laminated, tempered, smart glass)
- Project leadership or crew supervision experience
Certifications & Requirements
- Fall Protection Certificate (required)
- WHMIS 2015 Certification (required)
- First Aid/CPR (preferred)
- Valid driver's license with clean record
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work at heights up to 15+ stories safely
- Capacity to lift and handle 40-60 lbs regularly
- Fine manual dexterity for detailed glazing and sealant work
- Sustained standing, reaching, and climbing throughout the workday
- Tolerance for heat, cold, wind, and precipitation
