Position Summary
MetronCS is seeking a skilled POS & Technology Installer to join our restaurant technology team. You will install, configure, and test point-of-sale systems, kitchen display screens, digital menu boards, and restaurant technology solutions. Your expertise in hardware installation, network integration, and software configuration will ensure every restaurant launches with fully operational, integrated technology systems that streamline operations from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Install point-of-sale terminal hardware at front-of-house and back-of-house stations
- Install kitchen display system (KDS) screens with proper mounting and positioning
- Install digital menu boards and pricing displays with content management integration
- Run electrical and data cabling for all POS and restaurant technology systems
- Install network equipment including switches, routers, and wireless access points
- Configure POS system hardware and perform initial software setup
- Integrate POS with payment processing, ordering, and kitchen management systems
- Test all technology systems for proper operation and network connectivity
- Coordinate with IT teams on software installation and system configuration
- Provide staff training on technology system operation and troubleshooting
- Create documentation and setup guides for restaurant staff reference
- Troubleshoot technology issues and coordinate with vendor support as needed
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of POS system installation or restaurant technology experience
- Strong knowledge of point-of-sale hardware and software platforms
- Experience with basic networking, cabling, and hardware installation
- Ability to read technology drawings and understand system architecture diagrams
- Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technology issues
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with major POS platforms (Toast, Square, Lightspeed, Shopify, etc.)
- Knowledge of kitchen management systems and restaurant operations
- Experience with digital signage and content management systems
- Basic networking certifications or knowledge of IT infrastructure
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly (monitors, terminals, equipment)
- Comfortable working at heights for mounting screens and equipment
- Ability to work in active restaurant environments during installations
- Comfortable with detailed, precise work in mounting and cable management
