Position Summary
MetronCS is seeking an experienced Millwork/Cabinetry Fabricator to join our finishes team on high-end restaurant and commercial construction projects. You will design, fabricate, and install custom millwork including restaurant-grade cabinetry, service counters, display cases, and decorative elements. Working directly with project managers and architects, you'll transform technical drawings into precision-crafted installations that elevate restaurant aesthetics and functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and translate architectural drawings and CAD files into precision fabrication plans
- Fabricate custom millwork and cabinetry using advanced woodworking machinery and hand tools
- Construct restaurant-grade service counters, prep stations, and host stands to exact specifications
- Fabricate custom display cases, shelving systems, and architectural features with precision joinery
- Install custom millwork on-site ensuring alignment, level, and secure fastening to structural elements
- Coordinate with finish carpenters on paint/stain schedules and final touch-ups
- Maintain workshop equipment, tools, and quality control standards in fabrication shop
- Communicate proactively with project team regarding timeline, material concerns, and installation challenges
- Ensure all work meets MetronCS quality standards and building code compliance
- Work safely at heights and in confined restaurant spaces during installations
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional millwork/cabinetry fabrication and installation experience
- Advanced proficiency with woodworking machinery (table saws, track saws, edge banders, CNC equipment)
- Strong knowledge of wood species, construction methods, joinery, and finishing techniques
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and CAD files accurately
- Excellent attention to detail with precision measurements and quality standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial restaurant cabinetry and finish-out experience
- Experience with CAD software or shop drawing creation
- Knowledge of food service equipment spacing and health code compliance
- Experience managing small teams or training apprentices
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to work at heights using ladders and lifts
- Comfortable working in workshop and construction site environments
- Ability to work in confined spaces within restaurant kitchens
