Land Surveyor

Job Summary

We seek an experienced Land Surveyor to conduct boundary surveys, topographic mapping, and site analysis for restaurant and commercial construction projects. Your expertise in survey methodology, legal descriptions, and site documentation will provide the precise information needed for design and construction planning. You will work with architects, civil engineers, and municipal authorities to deliver accurate surveying solutions across the Several Positions Open Across Canada and USA and North America.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct boundary surveys and legal property surveys to establish property lines and easements
  • Perform topographic surveys capturing existing site features, elevations, and constraints
  • Document utilities, existing structures, vegetation, and site conditions through field surveys
  • Prepare survey drawings and legal descriptions for design and permit applications
  • Coordinate utility locates and verify underground infrastructure locations
  • Establish building layout points and grade stakes for construction operations
  • Conduct as-built surveys documenting completed construction work
  • Prepare survey documentation in compliance with Ontario land surveying standards
  • Manage survey equipment including GPS, total stations, and laser measuring instruments
  • Collaborate with civil engineers and architects to identify survey requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Ontario Land Surveyor (OLS) license or Professional Surveyor certification required
  • 5+ years of commercial land surveying experience including boundary and topographic surveys
  • Proficiency with surveying equipment and GPS/RTK technology
  • Expert knowledge of property law, legal descriptions, and survey standards
  • Proficiency with survey software and CAD for preparing survey drawings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience surveying restaurant or retail commercial properties
  • Knowledge of municipal survey requirements and regulations
  • Experience with GPS/RTK and drone surveying technologies
  • Familiarity with BIM and survey data integration

Certifications Required

  • Ontario Land Surveyor (OLS) License or equivalent Professional Surveyor Certification

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Capability to carry and operate surveying equipment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and traverse uneven terrain
  • Valid driver's license for travel to project sites
