Position Summary
MetronCS is seeking a skilled Commercial Kitchen Equipment Installer to join our restaurant finishes team. You will install, connect, and test complex commercial kitchen systems including cooking lines, prep stations, high-capacity dishwashers, and ventilation connections. Your expertise in kitchen equipment, mechanical and electrical coordination, and food service standards will ensure every restaurant opens on time with fully functional, code-compliant kitchen systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install commercial cooking lines including ranges, griddles, fryers, and ovens with proper venting
- Install and position prep stations, work tables, and food handling equipment
- Install high-capacity commercial dishwashers with water and drain connections
- Connect cooking equipment to gas lines with proper regulators and safety shutoffs
- Install ventilation hood connections and makeup air coordination
- Coordinate electrical rough-in and final connections for kitchen equipment
- Install under-counter and walk-in refrigeration prep stations
- Ensure all equipment is level, secure, and properly grounded
- Test equipment for proper operation and safety functionality
- Coordinate with health department requirements for equipment placement and spacing
- Communicate proactively with project managers regarding timeline and challenges
- Maintain equipment manuals and provide equipment orientation documentation
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial kitchen equipment installation experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial cooking, refrigeration, and dishwashing equipment
- Experience coordinating gas, electrical, water, and drainage connections
- Ability to read kitchen equipment plans and interpret specifications
- Familiarity with food service codes and health department standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Gas technician certification or experience
- Understanding of commercial HVAC and ventilation systems
- Experience with multiple equipment manufacturers and brands
- Project management or coordination experience
Certifications Required
- Gas technician certification (preferred but willing to train qualified candidates)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs regularly (equipment can be heavy)
- Ability to work in confined kitchen spaces during installation
- Comfortable working around cooking equipment and heat sources
- Ability to work at various heights and positions for extended periods
