Position Summary
MetronCS is seeking an experienced Glazier to join our finishes team, installing interior glass partitions, mirrors, glass railings, and specialty architectural glass elements in premium restaurant and commercial spaces. You will work with modern glass systems to create sophisticated, functional architectural features. Your precision craftsmanship and understanding of glass systems will ensure safe, beautiful installations that enhance restaurant design and functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Install interior glass partitions and framing systems with precision alignment
- Install mirrors and reflective glass panels with proper backing and sealing
- Install glass railings and safety glass with compliant fastening systems
- Work with specialty architectural glass including textured, frosted, and colored glass
- Measure and template glass installations on-site before fabrication or delivery
- Ensure proper sealing, waterproofing, and code compliance on all installations
- Coordinate with framers on structural support systems and backing requirements
- Install and configure glass hardware including hinges, handles, and closers
- Maintain and protect glass surfaces during construction phase
- Work safely at heights and in confined restaurant spaces
- Communicate proactively with project managers regarding specifications and challenges
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional glass installation experience in commercial environments
- Strong knowledge of glass types, framing systems, and safety requirements
- Proficiency with glass cutting, tempering, and installation techniques
- Ability to read architectural drawings and interpret glass specifications
- Excellent attention to detail with quality and alignment standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specialty architectural glass and designer systems
- Knowledge of restaurant glass requirements (safety, cleanliness, durability)
- Experience installing glass railings and safety systems
- Understanding of building codes and safety glass regulations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs regularly (glass sheets can be heavy)
- Ability to work at heights using ladders and scaffolding
- Ability to work in dusty and noisy construction environments
- Comfortable handling sharp and fragile materials safely
