Job Summary
MetronCS is seeking an experienced Flooring Installer to join our Interior Build-Out team. You will install VCT, LVT, epoxy, polished concrete, and specialty commercial flooring systems for restaurants and retail properties. Your expertise will ensure durable, attractive floors that withstand heavy traffic and demanding commercial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and level subfloors for optimal flooring installation
- Install VCT (vinyl composition tile) and LVT (luxury vinyl tile) flooring
- Apply and finish epoxy floor coatings and industrial finishes
- Polish and finish concrete floors to specified standards
- Install specialty commercial flooring systems including raised floors
- Apply adhesives and sealants appropriate for each material type
- Cut and fit flooring materials around obstacles and openings
- Perform quality inspections to ensure proper installation and finish
- Coordinate with other trades to ensure proper sequencing
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and manage material waste
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional commercial flooring installation experience
- Expert knowledge of VCT, LVT, epoxy, and concrete finishing
- Proficiency with flooring preparation, adhesives, and installation tools
- Strong understanding of substrate preparation and moisture mitigation
- Attention to detail with commitment to quality finishes
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Flooring Contractor License or equivalent certification
- Experience with specialty flooring systems and coatings
- Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly flooring materials
- Experience with high-volume restaurant and kitchen flooring
- Leadership or crew supervision experience
Certifications & Requirements
- WHMIS 2015 Certification (required)
- First Aid/CPR (preferred)
- Valid driver's license with clean record
Physical Requirements
- Ability to kneel, bend, and work on hands and knees regularly
- Capacity to lift and carry 50+ lbs throughout the day (flooring materials, equipment)
- Fine motor coordination for precise layout and detail work
- Sustained standing and reaching throughout extended work periods
- Tolerance for dust, vapors, adhesive fumes, and variable conditions
