Job Summary
MetronCS is seeking a skilled Fire Protection/Sprinkler Installer to join our MEP & Interior Build-Out team. You will design and install fire sprinkler systems, suppression systems, and integrate fire alarm networks for commercial properties including restaurants and retail facilities. Your expertise will protect lives and property on complex commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and install fire sprinkler systems per National Fire Code standards
- Size and layout wet pipe, dry pipe, and pre-action sprinkler systems
- Install mainline piping, branch lines, and individual sprinkler heads
- Install fire alarm sensors, manual pull stations, and notification devices
- Integrate fire suppression systems with building automation and alarm systems
- Install special hazard suppression systems (kitchen hood suppression, etc.)
- Perform hydrostatic testing and system commissioning
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and structural trades for system integration
- Ensure all installations meet National Fire Code and building code requirements
- Maintain detailed documentation and support inspection and certification processes
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional fire sprinkler and protection system installation experience
- Expert knowledge of National Fire Code and sprinkler design principles
- Proficiency with CAD or design software for layout and planning
- Strong understanding of wet pipe, dry pipe, and pre-action systems
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
- Ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Fire Protection Technician License or Certification
- Fire Alarm Technician certification
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Knowledge of special hazard suppression systems
- Leadership or supervision experience with installation teams
Certifications & Requirements
- Fire Protection Technician certification (required or working toward)
- WHMIS 2015 Certification (required)
- First Aid/CPR (preferred)
- Valid driver's license with clean record
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work at heights on multiple stories safely
- Capacity to lift and carry 40-60 lbs regularly
- Fine manual dexterity for detailed connections and adjustments
- Sustained standing, reaching, and climbing throughout the day
- Tolerance for varied environmental conditions
