Job Summary
MetronCS is seeking a Licensed Electrician to join our MEP & Interior Build-Out team. You will install commercial electrical systems for high-end restaurants, retail, and commercial properties, including power distribution, lighting, kitchen equipment circuits, and emergency backup power. Your technical expertise will ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant electrical installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install commercial electrical distribution systems, panels, and circuit breakers
- Run and terminate electrical conductors, cables, and conduit per code and specifications
- Install lighting systems including recessed, pendant, and emergency lighting
- Install dedicated circuits and equipment connections for kitchen equipment (ranges, ovens, fryers)
- Install backup power systems, generators, and automatic transfer switches
- Terminate and test low-voltage systems and building automation connections
- Perform load calculations and system balancing to optimize distribution
- Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, and structural trades for system integration
- Ensure all installations meet Ontario Electrical Code and safety standards
- Maintain detailed documentation and communicate with project management
Required Qualifications
- Current Ontario Journeyman or Master Electrician license (required)
- 5+ years of commercial electrical installation experience
- Expert knowledge of electrical codes and commercial systems
- Proficiency with load calculations and circuit design
- Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Master Electrician with supervisory or foreman experience
- Extensive experience with high-end restaurant and retail electrical systems
- Knowledge of smart building systems and energy management
- Experience with emergency power and backup systems
- Proficiency with building information modeling (BIM) software
Certifications & Requirements
- Ontario Licensed Electrician (Journeyman or Master) (required)
- WHMIS 2015 Certification (required)
- First Aid/CPR (preferred)
- Valid driver's license with clean record
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work at heights using ladders and scaffolding
- Capacity to lift and carry 50+ lbs regularly
- Fine manual dexterity for wire termination and connections
- Sustained standing, climbing, and reaching throughout the day
- Ability to work in confined spaces and variable conditions
