Concrete Finisher
Position Overview
MetronCS Commercial Services is seeking skilled Concrete Finishers to pour, level, and finish concrete for foundations, slabs, sidewalks, and decorative elements on commercial projects. You'll work with concrete formwork, operate concrete equipment, and apply finishing techniques to achieve specified surface quality and appearance. This hands-on trade role requires technical skill and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate concrete pumps, screeds, and finishing equipment to pour and level concrete
- Finish concrete surfaces using trowels, floats, and power tools to specified standards
- Apply decorative finishes including brooms, polishing, and staining as specified
- Prepare concrete surfaces and formwork prior to pouring
- Monitor concrete curing and perform timing-critical finishing tasks
- Set and maintain proper slopes and grades during concrete placement
- Create control joints, expansion joints, and other specialty finishes
- Repair and maintain concrete finishing tools and equipment
- Follow safety protocols for working with concrete and chemical finishes
- Coordinate with concrete suppliers and contractors on material delivery and timing
- Maintain quality standards for appearance, durability, and code compliance
- Clean up work areas and dispose of concrete waste properly
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of concrete finishing experience
- Strong understanding of concrete properties, curing, and finishing techniques
- Proficiency with concrete finishing tools and power equipment
- Ability to read and interpret concrete specifications and finish standards
- Knowledge of safety practices for concrete work
- Physical ability to perform concrete finishing tasks for extended periods
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with restaurant or commercial concrete projects
- Concrete Finisher certification or apprenticeship
- Experience with decorative finishes and polished concrete
- Knowledge of specialty concrete products and admixtures
Physical Requirements
Ability to work on active construction sites, standing and kneeling for extended periods during concrete finishing. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and spend long hours in concrete dust and humidity. Full PPE compliance including hard hat, safety glasses, respiratory protection when needed, and steel-toed boots required. Work often occurs outdoors in varying weather conditions.
