Job Summary
We seek a skilled Civil Engineer to handle site development, grading, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure for restaurant and commercial construction projects. Your expertise in site planning, storm water management, and municipal coordination will ensure projects are built on properly prepared sites that meet regulatory requirements. You will work with architects, contractors, and municipal authorities to deliver site solutions that optimize development potential across the Several Positions Open Across Canada and USA and North America.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare site grading plans and drainage designs for commercial properties
- Design storm water management systems including retention, detention, and treatment facilities
- Coordinate utility connections including water supply, sewer, electrical, and gas lines
- Design parking areas, drive approaches, and site circulation patterns
- Prepare site survey coordination and utility locates for construction
- Ensure designs comply with Ontario Building Code, Accessibility Standards, and municipal requirements
- Coordinate with structural engineer regarding site loads and foundation requirements
- Prepare civil design drawings and specifications for permit and construction
- Manage municipal approvals and coordination with utilities and local authorities
- Conduct site inspections during grading, utility installation, and landscape phases
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license required
- 6+ years of civil engineering design experience in site development and grading
- Expert knowledge of Ontario Building Code and municipal development standards
- Proficiency with civil design software and AutoCAD or Revit
- Strong understanding of grading, drainage, and storm water management principles
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with restaurant or retail commercial site development
- Knowledge of municipal engineering and development approvals process
- Familiarity with storm water quality treatment and sustainability practices
- Experience with site survey coordination and utility documentation
Certifications Required
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) License in Ontario or eligible for reciprocal license
