Carpenter / Framer
Position Overview
MetronCS Commercial Services is seeking experienced Carpenters/Framers to build wood and metal stud wall framing, install doors, windows, blocking, and perform rough carpentry on commercial construction projects. You'll work from blueprints, install building components with precision, and coordinate with other trades. This skilled trade role is essential for the structural and operational success of commercial fit-out and new construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and install wood stud and metal stud wall framing per specifications
- Install door frames, windows, and hardware according to architectural drawings
- Install blocking, backing, and structural blocking for fixture attachment
- Cut and fit materials with precision for proper alignment and finish
- Install soffit, fascia, and trim components
- Perform rough carpentry and framing coordination with MEP trades
- Read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications accurately
- Coordinate openings and clearances for other trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC)
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
- Follow safety protocols for heights and power tools
- Work collaboratively with construction teams and supervisors
- Assist with material handling and site organization
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of carpentry or framing experience
- Proficiency with hand and power tools for carpentry
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
- Strong understanding of framing methods and best practices
- Attention to detail and precision measurement skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between project sites
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial or restaurant fit-out carpentry
- Journeyman Carpenter certification or apprenticeship completion
- Metal stud framing experience
- Knowledge of door and window installation systems
Physical Requirements
Ability to work on active construction sites, including standing, climbing, and bending for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly, work at heights, and operate power tools safely. Full PPE compliance including hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots required. Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
